We're 2 weeks away from Christmas week, and enjoying creating new traditions. The boys have loved our new Advent calendar. We've done quite a few simple activities, but each one has been so fun to do as a family. It has gotten cold here in Kansas City, so we've been enjoying the fireplace and a hot chocolate every now and again.
This week we studied Robert Frost's "The Road Not Taken." Somehow his poetry never gets old. Aedan really enjoys reading each new poem, and painting his interpretation of the painting assignment.
This is Aedan's history notebooking page of the week. His picture of Jezebel got a little gory. Sorry folks! This was a pretty violent story.
Aedan's history project of the week was to make a mosaic. He drew a horse and chariot per the instructions.
I had to help Aedan with this one. I should have followed the instructions better. We were supposed to number the boxes from right to left. WOOPS! We found out our little mistake after we glued on 2 rows, so pay attention to the instructions y'all!
Aedan's picture was so nice that coloring it kind of took away from his detailed work. He loves to draw, but doesn't really love coloring anything.
We eventually got this right!
Aedan wrote about the prophesies of Jonah and Hosea.
This was our final week in Apologia. This was the first week we failed to do our science experiment. We were supposed to test what temperature worms liked best. Aedan didn't want to go buy worms at the store because we couldn't let them go outside because it's winter now. Sigh. Maybe we'll revisit this one in the spring. How was your week?
