Welcome to our Unit 31 week in review! This week we read John 14-18 for our history readings which cover the final days of Christ's life here on earth. Aedan is doing two units a week for 2 weeks, and has been doing such a great job of not complaining. The only hit of that is that when he reads his extension reader Twice Freed, he calls it "Twice Read." He is reading a LOT, but he also knows that the sooner we're done, the sooner he gets to go to the pool :)
Our poem of the week was "Nothing Gold Can Stay" by Robert Frost.
Aedan painted a golden meadow scene to illustrate the poem.
Aedan's copywork was from John 15 which is my very favorite passage in the Bible.
Aedan chose to write about Peter's denial for his written narration. He used terrible grammar in the conversation bubbles to bring out the grammar monster in me. He thinks that is terribly funny :)
He added his timeline entries: Caiaphas is High Priest, and Pontius Pilate is Governor of Judea.
His Bible copywork was John 16:33.
Our history activity was to find all the locations of the main events of the Life of Jesus. He highlighted the miracles of Jesus and found that they were concentrated in one area.
In science we learned about different kinds of joints in our body.
We found items in our homes that were similar to those joints. Door hinges work like hinge joints in our body.
A wheel on the bottom of the chair works like a ball and socket joint.
A chair that swivels works like a swivel joint. That wraps it up!
