Welcome to week 21 of HOD RtR! This week we read about Babur, Henry VIII and his wives, Sir Thomas More, and Titian. School weeks have been going by so quickly these days. I'm thankful for good weeks. Some are easier than others and we have had some great ones lately.
We read about the Taj Mahal this week. Our history project was to draw a building with towers, turrets and domes.
This turned out really well!
I love when I see our homeschool studies inspiring other work. Aedan loves to draw, and I found this on the table. He had incorporated what he learned about architecture to an imaginary world he often draws and writes about.
Aedan researched Delhi, India. He added his timeline entries: Babur Conquers Delhi, Henry VIII - King of England, and Sir Thomas More is Beheaded.
Aedan's written narration was about Titian. He painted a portrait of someone who was 40 years older than she appeared in the painting. That is what Aedan is representing here :)
Aedan filled in information about Henry VIII, mapped London, England and labeled a portrait of Sir Thomas More.
We read about the misfortune of many of Henry VIII's wives.
Aedan completed his reading of Taming of the Shrew and studied Emily Dickinson's poem "The Wind's Visit."
We learned about the earth's plates and how they move. We did an "earth dance." LOL. Try doing this with boys!
We showed how plates move together and form mountains.
This isn't included in the plans, but I found it on Pinterest.
We used this to show how the plates once fit together.
As we pulled it apart the continents got farther...
...and farther apart.
This is our science notebook page for the week. That's all for now. I can't believe there are only 14 weeks left of school! See you next week :)
