Modern American & World Timeline Figures - HOD MtMM

Friday, March 25, 2016

I am wrapping up the majority of preparation for next year. I just really want to get it off my brain and get out and enjoy the springtime and summer. It's always fun when you can tie up all the thought and heart you pour into your homeschool year by putting it all back on the shelf and taking a huge sigh of peace.

This coming year Aedan will be in Heart of Dakota Missions to Modern Marvels. This curriculum comes with beautiful notebook pages that include a timeline each week. I love this part of our history study, but I also like seeing everything how it happened all at once. I love for the kids to be able to add the figures so they can see how this person lived during that person's lifetime or that event. It helps explain the context of a major event or how a person became who they were sometimes.

We have a Pandia Press Timeline that I have hanging in our homeschool room.. The timeline can also be stored in a binder for those who don't have wall space. I made these figures to go fit on this particular timeline, but they would probably work in any kind of book timeline you can buy.

These figures cover 1845-2011 and go along with our studies this year in MtMM. There are 5 sheets total, and I laminated them and cut them out like this. We will use simply use double sided tape to adhere them to the wall. Happy studying!

  1. I'll have to remember to come here and grab these if we do this HOD program. Right now, we are moving far too slowly to think this far ahead :) but appreciate the time and effort that other mom's put into things like this to make homeschooling preparation a little easier.

  2. We are homeschooling for the first time this year. I have been back and forth about starting a blog, but if my blog can be has helpful to other moms as yours has been to us I really need to do it....and I'll DEF send people your way. We are going to cut out time timeline cards on card stack, put them on popsicle sticks and make a waking to scale timeline down a major road in our subdivision (the long straight one lol). You are the best!

    1. You are too kind! It always blesses me to know any work I put in here is helpful to a new homeschool mom. I totally remember how it felt to be new to it all. I hope you have a great year!
